A supply chain accountable at every link

Sustainability at BASE is applied where we have real influence — in the partners we choose, the communities connected to our supply network, and the standards we hold both to. Because we don't operate extraction sites ourselves, our sustainability commitments are expressed through supplier selection and ongoing review, not through operational programmes we run directly. We report on these commitments the same way we report on quality — against specific criteria a supplier either meets or doesn't, not as a general statement of intent. A supplier who can't produce the evidence for a specific criterion is treated as not meeting it, regardless of how the relationship has gone otherwise.
